Promotional Materials

Lately I've been fixated on promotional materials for my two latest releases and luckily I have a wonderful friend who creates book covers and other author friendly items. Her name is Tracy Stewart and she does a wonderful job.  She's very OCD about the quality of her work. So, I thought I'd show off the work she's done for me by posting the promotional materials she's created for me lately.

Here are my new postcards and bookmarks. I think they're great and will be wonderful freebies to hand out at book signings and to mail out to readers.

And in case you need any of these items yourself, here's her website address:
http://www.allaboutthecover.com/

And by the way she created the book covers for both my latest releases Timeless and Breaking Free .
Be sure to check them out.

I'd love to hear what other kinds of promotional materials you've used to give your book sells a boost.
Please comment so we can share ideas about it. I'd love to hear from you all.

I've invested in business cards and bookmarks, though my bookmarks have my "branding" on them instead of my book I'm promoting and thus far, I haven't had or found opportunity to give them out, so I can't speak from experience.

I'd love each of your bookmarks, though- Tracy did an awesome job! I'm reading Timeless right now on my Kindle, but I do still read books in print and always end up at a loss for a bookmark when I need one. ;)

I really think I should have thought of postcards a while back to have to send out when my book comes out in just a little over a week. Will definitely keep it in mind for next time.
Taryn:
I have business cards as well. And I've always done the bookmarks since my first book came out. I did a postcard campaign for the first two books as well. Readers love the bookmarks and it gives them something concrete to look at and jog their memory about you and the books.
Keep checking back. I'm hoping that others will comment on what they've used in the past as promotional things and give us some new ideas!!

I also use business cards and bookmarks. I hand my bookmarks out EVERYWHERE! So far, I don't know how they effect sales, but they are great conversation starters. I write YA Romance, so I hit the sales clerks at all of the grocery stores, retail shops, and even at the mall and restaurants if I see a group of girls hanging out. No one has been upset by my approach as yet and they all seem very excited about getting something free and meeting a published author. I can usually spot the "readers" a mile away.
