And yes, it really was interesting to try and identify which part of the house you were in by looking for the clues.

A must see for anyone visiting Scotland.

Teresa R.Teresa Reasor https://www.blogger.com/profile/18204579039577235727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8916886679888300765.post-57233832492309957492010-06-23T15:56:10.458-04:002010-06-23T15:56:10.458-04:00Fantastic photos. The drum tower of the current castle was built in the 1500's but it had to be on an older site because the Ramsay clan was founded in the 1100's when their founder, who's name escapes me, followed King David I to Scotland. The rest of the structure is younger. Possibly 1700's.
It's used as a hotel now.
It was one of the castles we intended to go see but ran out of time.
Thanks for reading the blogs,
Teresa R.Teresa Reasor https://www.blogger.com/profile/18204579039577235727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8916886679888300765.post-38013366987490157262010-06-23T08:56:09.426-04:002010-06-23T08:56:09.426-04:00PL:
