Releasing Two Books in one Month is Tough

I love writing. It's been my life-long dream to be able to write for a living since middle school. And I love to write different genres. So far this year I've released a historical romance, T o Capture A Highlander's Heart: The Wedding Night , a military romantic suspense, Breaking Out   (Book 6 of my SEAL Team Heartbreaker Series)   and now a paranormal romantic comedy Kindle World novella, Magic and Mayhem:   Have Wand, Will Travel .  I've written 235,627 printed words this year and am working on two more books. I'm about 8,000 words into Breaking Point , the eighth installment for my SEAL Team Heartbreakers Series. I don't know if the book will be a novella or a full length novel yet. Probably somewhere in between. A short novel of 45,000 words I think. And I've written the opening scene (about 1000 words) of my next paranormal the second installment for my Superstition Series Deep Within The Stone.  My family says that I'm obsessed and I am. I'm getting sooooo excited about the release! I just had to post another excerpt! I'm so proud of this book. It's the best historical romance I've written thus far. Loved writing it and LOVED my hero.  The Blurb:  Highland warlord Gabriel Campbell plans to wed Grace MacNab, but is stunned to learn the banns have been challenged on the grounds Grace is a lady by birth. They cannot marry under the king’s law without permission. The man Grace fears most has come to Caisteal Sith to force her into marriage. And there are others eager to offer for her in exchange for access to the charter the king’s regent has given her, but she’s in love with Gabriel. Though she doubts the depth of Gabriel’s feelings, she’s convinced he’s still the best man to lead her clan and fulfill her heart’s desire. Can the two stand together to fight tradition and win? Or will their chance at happiness be forever out of reach? Preorder Now: Amazon: http://amzn.to/1SNQ3TV ...

A Regency Serial Killer

Image
When I started writing Captive Hearts in 2005 I had it in my head I wanted to try something different in my book than the Regency Romances I had read.  Most of the Regencies I'd read at that period were light fare. Drawing room dramas with romantic conflicts that though entertaining were not dark. I wanted to write a DARK Regency. With touches of humor here and there. I wracked my brain for several days trying to figure out what kind of story line I could do that would satisfy my suspenseful craving. And decided I needed a serial killer. I had just read several books on Jack the Ripper. One of the best I've read to date is titled THE COMPLETE JACK THE RIPPER CASEBOOK BY DONALD RUMBLELOW Rumblelow is a retired Scotland Yard Detective and I was fascinated by his book. It goes into depth how the lower class lived during that period, what London was like, and of course the murders there in White chapel. (It is not available on kindle but is in print and well worth the read.) ...

Taryn Raye and her Castaway Hearts

Image
I've invited Taryn Raye to join me on my blog this week. Taryn writes what I call traditional historical romance. By that I mean that the story and the history behind it is written in a historically accurate language. So many historical romances today seem to have a contemporary feel to them in language and structure and I found it refreshing to run across Taryn's which fell into the style I prefer. So, of course I wanted to share it with others. Castaway Hearts Blurb Twice orphaned, Catherine Barrett arrives in Virginia a stranger to her closest kin and secretly engaged to the one man her family would disapprove of- her seafaring grandfather’s apprentice. Add to her troubles, the rich and intriguing older brother of her secret betrothed, Dawson Randolph, a plantation owner who is as heartless as he is handsome. Heartbroken when her intended sets sail for his maiden voyage, Catherine finds it difficult to adjust to her new life, hoping to befriend the o...
