Building Hope (Book 12 of the SEAL Team Heartbreakers) and other News about a friend's book

Image
In July 2024, I released Building Courage, the 11th book in the SEAL Team Heartbreakers Series. Just before that, my editor, Faith Freewoman, had some life-changing health issues and had to retire from editing. She'd been with me for 12 years.  I was heartbroken because we're good friends. Luckily Delilah Devlin was able to step in and edit the book. Bless her.  At the same time, Faith was having issues; my cover artist and one of my best friends, Tracy Hacker, also had to retire due to health reasons. She'd been with me for 14 years.  I'm looking for a new cover artist for Building Hope, my next book. Please be patient. It may take me a while to find the right fit.  In the meantime, I'm posting the blurb  I don't have a release date yet, but dear readers, you'll be the first to know when I do.   Blurb for Building Hope (Book 12 of the SEAL Team Heartbreakers) :  After a three-month deployment, Navy SEAL Frank Denotti walks off the transport plane...

I'm Still Here!!! And an excerpt from Building Courage

Image
It's been a long time since I've posted anything. It's taken longer for me to fight my way back from a year of grief, upheaval, and injury, and it's still a work in progress, but I'm working my way back.  I'm 53,000 words into my next book, and I've finally hit my stride.   I'm posting a short excerpt of my next book Building Courage.  I've tweaked the blurb a tiny bit.  Here it is: Photographer Brynn Barrington spent two years on the road. taking pictures, podcasting about survival, and working through a personal trauma by embracing life. She's taken up surfing, sky diving, and now wants to learn to scuba dive. But when she meets Tucker Giles, she's wary. The handsome SEAL triggers desires she long ago buried deep and never thought to feel again.  Navy SEAL Tucker Giles has been a certified diver for years. After a dangerous encounter with a bull shark during a mission, he decides teaching Brynn to dive is just the ticket to shake off the l...

Writing Through

Image
I thought I could write through anything. I used to turn to my writing to work through anger, frustration, and sadness. I wrote through disappointment, exhaustion, and loneliness. I wrote to remove myself from physical and emotional situations I couldn't escape. I had a very stressful job when I was first published, and my writing was my haven. But I couldn't write through the grief, anxiety, and financial chaos that followed my husband's passing.  It's been a journey to get to the point where I can put my fingers on the computer keys and write a sentence. I had started a book in October before his passing. But at the time, his illness had progressed to the point he needed me 24 hours a day.  I never left the house without my daughter or mother being there. And if I did, it was while he was asleep to go to the grocery store before he ever woke for the day.  I'm now trying to return to my past schedule of writing. But it's still difficult to sustain the schedule ...

Something New Happening with the SEAL Team Heartbreakers Series!!

Image
Hello readers.  I wish I was on the beach right now. Cold weather is just around the corner. We've already had some freezing temps here in Kentucky.   To take my mind off the end of summer, I have some really exciting news to share.  My wonderful cover artist Tracy Hacker has been a busy lady. Tracy has created new covers for the first 10 books in my SEAL Team Heartbreakers Series. She's come up with fantastic designs that tie the covers together wonderfully as a series. I uploaded them all in the last few days, and now that they're all live, I thought I'd share them on my blog so you can admire them.  The changes Tracy made were:   1. She increased the size of my guys so they take center stage.   2. Changed the guy on Breaking Free's cover to match the one on my Building Family cover.  3: Changed the tones of the covers to more vibrant colors. 4. Changed the fonts on the covers so it really draws attention to my titles. (I think ...

Building Family (Book 10 of the SEAL Team Heartbreakers) An excerpt

Image
On May 7th I released my 26th book. And I'm now headed toward my 27th but that's another story I'll be sharing with you in a later post. Building Family has been out exactly a month. And I'm so thrilled by my reader's responses. Building Family is Book 10 of the SEAL Team Heartbreakers Series. It's a big book just shy of 91,000 words and has 2 romances, a wedding, and 3 different suspense angles going all at the same time. I'm so proud of the book. Building Family goes back to the roots of the SEAL Team Heartbreakers series with the first couple I wrote about in Breaking Free . Hawk and Zoe. They've matured, they've excelled in their professional lives and they're still deeply in love. But love isn't without conflict, sometimes, and Zoe's come to a decision that will impact their lives. She's made sacrifices being married to a SEAL. She's been a single parent for much of that time and now that Hawk is home more often, sh...

Building Family Release Date May 7th!! Read an Excerpt!!

Image
I'm getting so excited about my next release! Building Family is ready to go and I'm getting impatient for it to release. I'm really proud of the book. It's actually Two love stories and several suspense threads going on at the same time. So there's so much more story there than I could shove into the three-paragraph blurb. I thought I'd post another excerpt to show that off. AMAZON / B&N / APPLE / KOBO / SMASHWORDS After nine years of marriage to a Navy SEAL Zoe Yazzie knows about sacrifice. Because of numerous periods of separation from her husband she’s put her dream of having another child on the back burner. But now her biological clock is ticking and she needs Hawk’s cooperation. Lieutenant Commander Adam “Hawk” Yazzie is stunned when his wife springs the idea of having a baby on him. Their son will soon be ten and Hawk believes their baby days are over. He’s faced with a dilemma, if he says no and crushes Zoe’s dream, will it cause long term harm...
