Building Family (Book 10 of the SEAL Team Heartbreakers) An excerpt

On May 7th I released my 26th book. And I'm now headed toward my 27th but that's another story I'll be sharing with you in a later post. Building Family has been out exactly a month. And I'm so thrilled by my reader's responses. Building Family is Book 10 of the SEAL Team Heartbreakers Series. It's a big book just shy of 91,000 words and has 2 romances, a wedding, and 3 different suspense angles going all at the same time. I'm so proud of the book. Building Family goes back to the roots of the SEAL Team Heartbreakers series with the first couple I wrote about in Breaking Free . Hawk and Zoe. They've matured, they've excelled in their professional lives and they're still deeply in love. But love isn't without conflict, sometimes, and Zoe's come to a decision that will impact their lives. She's made sacrifices being married to a SEAL. She's been a single parent for much of that time and now that Hawk is home more often, sh...

Do animals have souls? And a NEW RELEASE

Image
I believe animals have souls. I’ve had too many pets who have loved me, and whom I have loved, not to believe that there’s a special bond forged between humans and animals when you take them into your home. Scientists say that animals are incapable of emotion, or that they aren’t intelligent enough to love.   But all pet owners who have experienced that special kind of bond know that’s a bunch of horse hockey. One of our pets whose love had to be earned more than most was Gray Dog. When my children started calling him Gray Dog he wasn’t our dog. He was owned by a man who lived in a trailer down the hill from our house. For 4 years I snuck down and gave him food, water, dog biscuits and even bones while the owner was gone. During those 4 years I never once saw the man or his wife and son offer a loving pat or a kind word to the dog. He was invisible to them. They’d get out of their car and walk right past him, ignoring his tentative wagging tail, and walk into...

Breaking Boundaries: A New Excerpt

Image
Breaking Boundaries will be out September 15th!!! It is available for preorder now. I thought I'd share another excerpt in case you're sitting on the fence about purchasing it. My hero is to die for— even if I did write him. The Blurb: Corporal Callahan Crowes returns home from Afghanistan missing part of a leg and haunted by guilt over the loss of his men. He pledges to live every moment of his life to the fullest and works to build a career in the only field he knows besides being a soldier: construction. Reeling from her fiancé’s infidelity and their broken engagement, Kathleen O’Connor accepts a job far away from Boston and the suffocating pity of friends and family. She puts romance firmly behind her, and, armed with her shiny new architectural degree, launches her career with a commercial construction and design firm. Her first day on the job, she sees Cal risk his life to rescue a fellow worker, and is shocked when his act of heroism triggers an unwarr...

Breaking Boundaries (Book 5 of the SEAL Team heartbreakers) Prerelease and an Excerpt

Image
As an author you never get over that big rush you get over finishing another book. Then comes the hard part. Editing it. But I don't think I'll ever get tired of what I do for a living now. I LOVE my job and I thank God every day I get to do it. Breaking Boundaries, the 5th book in my SEAL Team Heartbreakers Series, is available for preorder. I never intended Breaking Boundaries to be a full length book, but the characters had a different idea. And their story line was such that there was no way I could tell their story in 35,000 words. So my readers get a 79,500 word full length book. I hope you'll like it. And it has Doc in it. I'm using this book as a kind of prequel to Doc's story so you, the reader, will get used to having his love interest call him Zach instead of Doc. And so you'll get a little more of his backstory. Without further adu... Breaking Boundaries . The Blurb: Corporal Callahan Crowes returns home from Afghanistan missing part o...
