Building Family (Book 10 of the SEAL Team Heartbreakers) An excerpt

Image
On May 7th I released my 26th book. And I'm now headed toward my 27th but that's another story I'll be sharing with you in a later post. Building Family has been out exactly a month. And I'm so thrilled by my reader's responses. Building Family is Book 10 of the SEAL Team Heartbreakers Series. It's a big book just shy of 91,000 words and has 2 romances, a wedding, and 3 different suspense angles going all at the same time. I'm so proud of the book. Building Family goes back to the roots of the SEAL Team Heartbreakers series with the first couple I wrote about in Breaking Free . Hawk and Zoe. They've matured, they've excelled in their professional lives and they're still deeply in love. But love isn't without conflict, sometimes, and Zoe's come to a decision that will impact their lives. She's made sacrifices being married to a SEAL. She's been a single parent for much of that time and now that Hawk is home more often, sh...

Breaking Boundaries (Book 5 of the SEAL Team heartbreakers) Prerelease and an Excerpt

Image
As an author you never get over that big rush you get over finishing another book. Then comes the hard part. Editing it. But I don't think I'll ever get tired of what I do for a living now. I LOVE my job and I thank God every day I get to do it. Breaking Boundaries, the 5th book in my SEAL Team Heartbreakers Series, is available for preorder. I never intended Breaking Boundaries to be a full length book, but the characters had a different idea. And their story line was such that there was no way I could tell their story in 35,000 words. So my readers get a 79,500 word full length book. I hope you'll like it. And it has Doc in it. I'm using this book as a kind of prequel to Doc's story so you, the reader, will get used to having his love interest call him Zach instead of Doc. And so you'll get a little more of his backstory. Without further adu... Breaking Boundaries . The Blurb: Corporal Callahan Crowes returns home from Afghanistan missing part o...

Giving your books a facelift. (Tweeking COVERS)

Recently my cover artist Tracy Stewart from Simply Bookish created a couple of new covers for my next two SEAL TEAM Heartbreaker books and they were unbelievably gorgeous. But when she looked at the first two books in the series, she decided that they needed a face lift so they'd be more aligned with the style of the new ones coming out. So she tweaked the covers just a little  and I just had to brag about how wonderful they look.  Here they are. Tracy is a gifted Graphic designer and can do anything. She's created magnets, bookmarks, postcards, and all my covers for me. She's also done a book trailer for my Romantic Suspense set in Scotland titled Timeless. It was so good USA Today featured it in a Happy Ever After Article. In case you'd like to check it out here's the link :   Timeless Trailer  Tracy is the Bomb! EBOOK BREAKING AWAY                               PAPERBACK BREAKING AWAY I LOVE MY COVER!!! I'm crazy about it. It think my guy is so handsome,  intense, and sexy.  An excerpt: Flash swallowed against the breathless feeling of arousal that zipped straight to his groin. Her gray-green eyes homed in on his face and pulled him in. His attention dropped to her mouth. Would she taste like the home-baked cookies he’d smelled when he knocked on her door? He released her arm and put his hand back on the steering wheel. He should never have touched her. But she just seemed so alone. A feeling he identified with more each day. He had to stow that shit and move on. He couldn’t afford to get close to anyone. “Where to from here?” he managed, his Boston accent thick with reaction. “Turn right, and go seven blocks.” He turne...

THERE'S A WHOLE LOT A SHAKIN' GOING ON AND A FREE READ!

I've been very, very busy this month. I did a 1000 and 1000 challenge with Kerry Nelson of writing 1000 words a day and reading 1000 words a day.  The reading part is never a challenge. I read over 1000 words every day anyway. But the writing 1000 words is a little more work.  By the end of the month, I had done 21,500 words. I had broken the 32,000 word mark on my latest SEAL book and I've written 4500 words on the next short story in my To Capture A Highlander's Heart short story series.  So I'm closer to 25,000 total. I'm determined to break that 1000 words a day thing though. So, that is going to be my goal for the month. Write at least 35,000 words for the month. I'm on the down hill slide of finishing my 10th year with Eastern Kentucky University. I teach Art Appreciation at one of the satellite colleges here in Kentucky.   Next, I have just re-released my Scottish Historical Romance HIGHLAND MOONLIGHT . If you haven't read it here's...

The Next Big Thing Blog Hop

Image
I was challenged by Robyn Peterman   and Jennifer Madden to participate in this blog hop. And of course I had to do it because I love to blog. Robyn's Book   How Hard Can It Be? is due out January 17, 2013. But it's already available for preorder if you'd like to check it out. And Jennifer's newest The Embattled Road just hit Amazon and other stores a couple of weeks ago.   The Next Big Thing 1. What is the working title of your book? Breaking Away.    2.Where did the idea come for the book? I love military guys and the idea for the series first hit me three years ago. Since my Dad was in the Marines I knew how military guys behaved and had some idea how they thought and hid how they felt. I wanted other people to understand what their families went through when they were deployed home, injured, doing training---the works. I wrote the first book, Breaking free   and started submitting it to editors while I finished another...
