Excerpt for An Automated Death

Image
An Automated Death An Automated Death was published March 13th, 2013.  And I thought I'd post an except from the book for those who are interested. The story has two endings. One dark and one light.  I've published the story with them both.  Here's the excerpt: Automaton: A non-electronic machine that mimics the movements of an animal or a human.   A nineteenth century robot. London, England, 1863 Rain clouds rolled in over London, bringing with them a gray tinged afternoon light that struggled to penetrate the shop’s plate glass windows. Alan Cartwright turned up the wick on the oil lamp and moved it closer to the mechanism he worked on. Despite the gas lamps lining the interior walls, working on the small fittings of the automaton required additional light. The wooden clock cabinets and music boxes he built gleamed in the warm glow, their brass fittings sparkling gold. The smell of freshly cut wood and machine oil hung in...

BREAKING AWAY my Work In Progress

Image
My friend Taryn Raye and I were playing tag  and I ended up being IT so the challenge is to do a short interview about my WIP (Work in Progress). Since everything you do while writing a new book helps you flesh out your characters, I accepted her challenge.  What is the working title of your book? BREAKING AWAY Where did the idea come from for the book? BREAKING AWAY is the third book of my SEAL TEAM Heartbreaker series. It’s Flash’s story. He’s missing in action at the end of the first story and throughout the second one. It’s time Flash’s story is told. What genre does your book fall under? My book is romantic suspense. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition? Steven Amell. He’s a Canadian Actor and has done some really strong stuff thus far on HBO. He’s rugged, masculine, built and a fine actor. I just saw him last night on his new show Arrow. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?   ...

BREAKING THROUGH IS RELEASED!!! And the Print copy!!

Image
Well, it's been seven months coming but BREAKING THROUGH my new Navy SEAL romantic suspense is released.  And I'm so thrilled!! I loved both covers so much that I'm using both. The darker one is the place marker at B and N and Amazon for the book but the redder cover is inside. And I'm using the redder one for the print edition. The Print edition just became available this morning. They haven't melded the two pages yet, I hope that isn't confusing for customers!! Tracy Stewart my cover artist does a wonderful job!!! And if you're looking for a Zoe and Hawk fix. They're back in Breaking Through. I had to finalize some of their story and Breaking Through was the perfect way to do it. Here's the blurb: What happens when a Navy SEAL wakes from a month-long coma to discover he’s being investigated for murder? When Ensign Brett Weaver is accused of murder, he knows he’s innocent, but how can he prove it with Naval Investig...

Breaking Free and Timeless Postcard

Image
Here's my new postcard to help promote Breaking Free and Timeless. What readers don't know about is the many hours we spend trying to get the word out there about our books.  So, I'm doing a postcard campaign both physically and digitally.       I've done post card campaigns before. I'm not certain about how effective they are, but if my campaign reaches ten people out of a hundred, maybe they'll tell their friends what a wonderful book I've written.  I'm convinced what really sells books is writing a good book. And Word of Mouth.  But you have to get people's notice before they'll read the book. And you have to spread the word before they'll know it's out there. So, if you wouldn't mind, I'd love it if you'd help me spread the word.   Timeless and Breaking Free   Thanks,  Teresa J. Reasor
